Welcome to the Skukum Lounge, our live music space downstairs, where dim lights set the mood for unforgettable nights. But its name? That comes from a place just as cool as The Junk Bar itself; Mount Skukum. Nestled deep within the mystical Yukon Territory of Northern Canada.

On the log cabin stage, we have hosted the likes of Robert Forster, Ed Kuepper, Riley Walker, John Craigie and Cat Clyde, Kristin Hersh, Kim Salmon and Dave Graney.
In recent years, acts such as Wet Season, Square, Doggie Heaven, Great Sage, Special Features and Blue Diner have sent audiences home delirious!
The Skukum Lounge has become one of Brisbane's legendary small venues.
With live music kicking off 5 nights a week, you can expect to see a diverse range of acts from near and far, everything from folk, roots and jazz evenings to upbeat indie nights.
Our open mic nights, every Wednesday, are a great way to immerse yourself in the bustling music community we have here in Meanjin … or hang out for the weekend to hear music from our programme of local and touring acts.
